Health and Human Services (HHS) – Est. 2010 to promote and facilitate programs that support the maintenance of good health and the elimination of chronic health disparities in communities of color through education, health advocacy, and optimal utilization of health resources.
- Addressing Chronic Health Disparities: Heath and Human Services respond to the persistent health disparities affecting Black communities, which contribute to lower life expectancy among African Americans and other people of African ancestry.
- Promoting Health Equity: The goal is to promote programs that support the maintenance of good health and work towards eliminating chronic health disparities in communities of color through education, health advocacy, and optimal utilization of healthcare resources.
- Community Health Education: Our core focus is raising awareness about health risks through community education. This HHS plays a critical role in offering initiatives such as RedStavaganza, Walk for Healthy Living, Mental Health Seminars, and Oral Health screenings and education on breast cancer, heart disease, and kidney health.
- Engaging, Accessible Programs: The objective is to provide ongoing education and resources to the community in a way that is both informative and engaging, making health education accessible and fun for all.
